Trans and engine combo

Post by 71f100anddodgemagnum »

What will it take to run a 347 with a c4. Probly with around 350 400 hp. Will I need to swap crossmembers or is it a direct swap, also i dont know what trans i have now with the 360 its a three speed i know . and shorten or lengthen the drive shaft. ? Plan on a mustang 2 front end with disk and get powersearing with rack and pinion. I want to just keep the nine inch in the rear but need some limited slip back there. What's my options for a rear. Although I want a 5x4 1/2 bolt patter in front and rear so I have unlimited wheel options. Thanks guys just trying to get all the drive train worked out.

the trans crossmember will probably be ok. but it is a manual crossmember. you may need to move it or end up changing it. that is unknown until you put it in there. sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. drvieshaft length will probably also have to be changed be prepared if it doesnt fit.

oh then you wont need a different crossmember then. probably. there were only two i think. well only two that look different. one was used for manual transmissions and the other was used for automatics. there may have been soem manuals that used the auto style i cant remember. there is a section where the crossmembers part number and usage is stated. i think usage is stated.
