These tranny's any good?

Post by 67fordman1 »

Hey, guys, i have a 67 f100 with a 352 and the cast iron case tranny,(i think they call it a cruise-o-matic). i was just wondering if anyone has ever had one of these trannys or how reliable they are. Mine wasnt shifting right when i first got it, but after replacing the modulator valve, she works fine. im not too familiar with this tranny and would like any comments, good or bad. thanks! :fr:

keep driving it until you have problems again. then consider replacing it with a C6 transmission.

the c6 was made in three different bellhousing. fe 352 360 390 small block 302 351 400 and 385 engine series or called big block 351m 429 460.

Just make sure when you replace it you have SOMEONE else do it. I helped on an iron 727, and I thought I was going to be found crushed under that damn car.
