Understanding Rear-End ID Tag

Hey everyone guess what… yep ya guessed it I’m new here.
First I’d like to thank wp442 FOR THIS POST It was a very big help to me.

I am rebuilding my 65 Mustang FB 200 ci IL motor. I still would like a little more info on how to read the rear-end ID Tag.

The Numbers are:
WCY-R
2.83 7.1/4" NL 24
Q: What is WCY-R and the number 24 telling me?

WCY-R= Falcon '65-Mustang '65-70
2:83= gear ratio.
7 1/4= ring gear diameter in inches.
NL= Non locking diffeential
24= axle spline count.
