C6 Transmission Mount.

Post by chiefsk »

I like reading all the past posts, I'ts a great way to learn things. While reading about Transmission mounts I saw pictures of the C6 Mount and the T-18 mount. The T-18 mount had that strap looking thing going over the mount. Thought I had seen that before???? Crawled under my 69 f100 and lord and behold I got that mount on my C6 with the correct C6 cross member according to the picture.
The posts say the differance between the mounts are the C6 bolt holes are even and the T-18 and offset. The C6 Mount is 3/8" higher. I'm going to get correct mount tomorrow, But my question is what are the ill effects of running the wrong mount. It has the two-piece drive-line so one end would be 3/8" off.
I don't seem to have any problems other than it shifts real hard, Figured that was due to the build of tranny and low engine vacuum from camshaft. I did swap in a 3000 stall convertor and it seemed that I had some trouble getting the single bolt to line up.
Thanks for any and all input

Thanks for the input. Is that the only things that would be affected due to the wrong angles of yoke and carrier bearing. I have gone thru one carrier bearing.. That would explain why that happened.
Thanks again
