B&M Megashifter problems...UH :(

I have C6 in my 67. Im using a Megashifter with a reverse pattern manual valve body. Here is what Im experiencing-sometimes when Im shifting it seems to stay in gear (mostly going from 2nd to 3rd). When this happens sometimes I can move the shifter back and then reshift and it seems to catch. However when Im downshift it seems like it doesnt want to downshift. This is becoming a HUGE pain to the point where I dont even want to drive the truck. The transmission has been rebuilt so Im confident its not a problem with that. Ive gone under the truck and adjusted that cable a couple times now. Each time I think I have it a new problem comes up. Any advice would be great. Im thinking about getting rid of the megashifter altogether but I dont know what else to get. Any suggestions? Is there a way to tell if the cable is bad?

I've got the truck version of the Megashifter in my truck and love it! (Although some here will call them "ghetto shifters")!
Did you remove the excess material from the C-6's shifter linkage as instructed in the insatllation instructions?

There is also an adjustment on the shifter end of the cable, as well as two different adjustment on the tranny end if my memory serves me right.

i have worn out sevaral makes of shifters hurst / b&m / ect a found all to slip on the linkage shaft so i would cut the arm like basketcase said but i tack welded the new arm to linkage // now i got a lokar no cable adi rod! bolts to trans works great so far. wes

Dont know if its your style or not, but I have the 22" Lokar auto shifter and I LOOOVVVEEEE it. Its smooth, yet you know when your in gear. And I have never ever ever had a problem. I like it cause its not cable operated, its linkage. Got it from summit racing.
