'67 Project Blue **Little Update 08/11/2013**

Post by TexMex67 »

Well, after joining Fordification about 6 years ago, I'm finally ready to start rebuilding my truck. It's a '67 short bed with an inline 6. The truck has been sitting for about 13 years. I want to completely tear it down, redo the engine, and paint it up real nice so that i can use it as a daily driver. I haven't noticed any really big rust spots but I haven't started to really dig into the guts of it. Now a few pics of what i'm talking about! It's going to be an excercise in patience but I'm finally ready!

Well, after enthusiastically starting to disassemble the truck my daily driver went kaput!
There went my rebuild budget and it had to be re-routed elsewhere!
I went ahead and bought a new to me 2009 F-150 STX, here she is:

I did start a little into the truck though

The engine does need work!

Hopefully updates will be a bit more frequent now that some money is being freed up as some bills drop off!

Well thats a beautiful truck. Get it out of storage, clean it real good. It's a inline six, so that engine most likely still has alot of miles left on it with a little TLC given to it.
Then you will be able to drive it straight off while you make your plans for your resto.

It's been going pretty slow but there is some progress to report.
With the help of a friend we took the motor out about two months ago.
Image
Putting it in the back of the truck to go to the machine shop.
Image
The transmission needs a little cleaning as well!
Image
The front end empty and ready for some good cleaning!
Image
A few weeks later I get the motor back and now I'm getting it ready to put it on the stand.
Image
The oil pan sure isn't ready to be put back on though!
Image
The first piece on a long list to be cleaned up!
Image
Well that's where I'm at right now. Now off to wire wheel the front end and see how it ends up!

Hey Texmex67, how's it coming with your '67 shortbed? If you want a ''sweet ride" that everyone will be jealous of, and you will only enjoy riding around in, while everyone else is riding around in their silver ''caccoon cars'', then keep at it and get your truck running and driving.
Paint it the same color it was when you got it, and youre going to love the inline six!

Thanks for the support jzjames. Slowly but surely it is coming along. I'll post a few pics of where I'm at later on in the week.
