C6 input shaft seal
Hi I just installed a new input shaft seal but there is a small lip just enough to catch a finger nail on around the seal I don't dare tap it in harder because I've already messed up two seals trying to replace this. My question is is this normal or should the seal be flush with the housing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

is the seal the same depth as the old one? did you get the inner surface where the seal seats at super clean and clear? what was the part number for the seal. is this transmission original to your truck?

We're talking converter/pump drive seal? The input shaft doesn't have a lip type seal.

Re: C6 input shaft seal
I agree with Dustin. There is no such thing as an input shaft seal on a C6.
