"Dig noise" thats driving me crazy!

Universal joint.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

The dig noise is the u-joint letting know it time to be replaced, Dig is coming from needle bearing not being there any more and letting the cross move inside the cups. Would replace ASAP.

Re: "Dig noise" thats driving me crazy!
It's crazy how life gets busy but I'm just now getting back
to working on my truck. I checked the u joints and there
fine I greased them up also. There not loose or anything,
I was told that theres a pin or something that needs tighten inside the diff, it's a Dana 60. I'm not sure how to do this. Have you guys heard of this? Thanks

on the 9 inch rear ends they have a sheild on the rear end where the yoke goes onto the pinion gear. if that comes loose it will ding.
