Flareside taillight pic wanted
I don't even know if it exists. Somewhere in the past I recall seeing a flareside brakelight with the styleside bed lights (the ones at the end of the bump)mounted to the side of the brakelights. Am I crazy or do these exist? I would assume it would have been on a ranger? This has been bugging me for a while. I would like to figure out how (if possible) to do it with OEM parts. Thanks for any input.

Depends, a lot of trailer lights are set up like that, plus OEM's put that style light on new bedless trucks from transport purposes.

You're not dreaming in technicolor, Doug, they do exist in that format but are very scarce due to the exposed nature of that taillite style. Seems to me a '68 Merc shortbox I owned a few years ago still had them and I think I've still got a bracket in a box somewhere. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

Re: Flareside taillight pic wanted
Just took a quick look and found it where I figured it was. Even found a remnant of the pigtail. Wish all the stuff I go looking for turned up that easily.
Can't remember where I found this but it was attached to a smushed LH taillite assembly. It has the Ford oval stamped on it and a D3TB part number. Probably off a long flareside box as Ford didn't offer the short flareside between '72 and '76, when they redesigned it to match the wider rear axle. Basically all they did was shorten the regular 8' f/s box as it was already the proper width. If you can use it, Doug, you're welcome to it.

Re: Flareside taillight pic wanted
Turns out my 'recollecter' was faulty regarding my old truck. The '68 and '69 flaresides used reflectors and the side lights started in '70. You can see one on the flareside in this pic from one of Keith's '70 brochures....

I looked thru the brochures but I didn't have much luck. Thanks for the link.
