Very cool! That Crown Vic suspension should give it a nice stance.

Keep us updated :D

Got it level with about 4-5 degrees of slope. Does that sound about right for the slope factor?

Lookin good!

I deal is for forward - aft angle of engine / trans to match that of the pinion (differential). Off the top of my head, 4-5 sounds about right, but I don't really recall. I do think it's in the literature on the site, but soon someone will chime in with a solid answer.

On the chevy I'm currently doing for my neighbor, I'm going to have to alter the pinion angle to match that of the engine since he doesn't want to alter the trans tunnel.

My understanding is that you want to measure the angle at the trans output, not up top. I think the carb should be more or less level at ride height, but for your u-joints to be in phase the trans yoke & rear yoke need to be at the same angle (ex: 3degrees down at trans and 3 degrees up at rear).

Thanks for the input guys. I'll take a look tonite at the trans angle. I'm going to get rid of the two piece driveshaft and go with a one piece so I'm guessing I'll have to look at later model F-150;s or full size vans to get close to what I need. The AOD that I picked up came out of an E 350 and from what I've read they're allegedly beefier than a passenger car unit?

Were gonna c notch the frame, possibly shorten the bed (or try to trade for a shortbed box) and shoot it in flat black.

Anywho thanks for all the nice comments and I'll post some more pics in the future.

According to this page of the 1970 Body Builder's Layout Book, 6-cyl and 302 engines have a 4°54' inclination and the other V8s have a 5°44' inclination as measured at the crankshaft centerline.
