more brake questions for the 4x4 F100

Hey, today I heard that instead of using the 5 bolt 77-79 F250 spindle knuckle set up, a guy could use 6 bolt Chevy 3/4 8 lug spindles, caliper mounts, caliper, hub/rotor on high pinion Dana 44 knuckles--I'd love to get 3/4 ton 8 lug disc brakes on my 1972 F100 4x4! Also heard that the 77-79 spindle is no longer made. Is this true or am I on glue?

Quite possible the chevy stuff will work, they used a 44 also until later when they started making thier own knock off of it known as the corporate. I would imagine the spindles went obsolete at Ford years ago.

Do the F100 4x4's have coil springs in front? I have a 71 F250 and I located a dana 44 hp with disc brakes from a 78 F250 that should bolt up. But the F250's are leaf springs in front.

Sorry about taking so long to reply, been busy locating a Dana 60 and Spicer locker for this truck. Yes, the F-100s 4x4s use coil springs and radius rods like an early Bronco.
