FT vs. FE 4WD oil pan

Post by two-bit »

I did a search and found one member who talked about using an FT pan on his 4WD FE engine.
Has anyone else done this? good or bad results?
I have fairly good access to a number of FT pans and am wondering how good of an idea it would be.

Thanks in advance.

FT pan is a full sump, need to get the pickup too. Can't remember how many quarts. Pretty much a direct swap, if I remember correctly.

wont the full sump FT pan have the same problem in a 4wd as the 2wd frotn sump pan? it will hit the axle on some bumps in the road? sellign a full sump pan would be a good thing to do too. others what the larger capsity pans for thier trucks.
