Solid lifter cam with crazy duration..? Nice stall & correct gears to match the cam+stall. Dont for get to do the exhaust. Long tube hedders 2 1/2" pipe, free flowing mufflers & a x or h pipe (your choice).

:yt: Then put it in a smaller lighter vehicle.
If you want to move our heavy trucks you should have more cubes. :2cents:

The 1969 mustang weighed around 3400-3500 lbs. Our trucks weigh around 3800-3900 lbs. The heavy truck argument does not hold water. Power to weight ratio is what you are looking for. If you are talking about a fully loaded f100 then we are talking about 4900 lbs. If you are hotrodding a fully loaded f100, don't it is too hard on them no matter what your motor is.

Edit: In 1969 the 302 was ratde at 210 hp and the 360 was rated at 215 hp.

The 71-73's probably weighed 4oo pounds more than the early Mustangs. I had a 72 Sportsroof for a while with a pretty mild 351w. Had a close ratio 4 speed in it and that thing was scary fast. A 302 would have pushed it very well also. Little bit of work on it and that 302 would have been faster than the 351W. These trucks are not that heavy.
I had a mostly stock 351w in my 71 F100 Long bed and it went 10.00 in the 1/8th with me spinning halfway down the track and not knowing squat about drag racing. lol
Sure a 302 is not going to be much good at towing 10k on a daily basis. I did tow that much once or twice when my F100 had a 302 in it and it sure did suffer. lol
I did pull many a trailer with cars on it and probably a couple hundred loads of firewood. Did all of that fine with a 302.
Just got to know your limitations.
Hey Keith. Long time no talk.
