OT What years?
Thought maybe someone would know - what years did Ford put the EFI 300 6-cylinder engine in pickups? Thanks.

Nope Fordman your right on the money bro, I was gonna chime in but you beat me to it. But yeah in 87 Speed Density EFI became standard equipment on both the 300Cid straight 6s and 302Cid V8 and the following year(88) Speed Density EFI became standard Equipment on 351Ws and 460s

Re: OT What years?
96 and it was running Mass Air Flow EFI...97 was the first model year for the modular engines 4.2L V6,4.6L V8,5.4L V8,6.8L V10.............in F Series to my knowledge the windsor and all Pushrod based engines were discontinued in favor of those new over head cam engines.........and interesting fact is they continued to install 302/5.0L V8s in Ford Exploders up to 2002

Re: OT What years?
There are plenty of 97 and 98 model year old body style trucks running around with pushrod motors. The old and new body styles overlapped.
Officially, 98 was the last year of the 300 six. It was a kick-ass sequential injected monster of a six at the end. Choked out by emissions and low hood designs, but the 300 six will always be the best gas motor ever made for a good majority of american pickup owners.

in this one instance I have to disagree with you bro,I know for a fact when they switched to that new body style in 1997 they went to the modular engines I've never seen a single truck post 97 with a pushrod anything 300-302-351 or 460 I'd have to see some sort of documentation to prove that cause your the first person I've ever heard make that claim and I can't substanciate it. Not trying to be a D*** but I've gotta say B.S. unless proven wrong

The F150 and light duty 250 switched in 97. The F250 and especially F350 went well into 98. 98 was a mid-year switch to the new body style. So yes, you could get a 300 six in an F250 or 350 in 1998.court1100f wrote:in this one instance I have to disagree with you bro,I know for a fact when they switched to that new body style in 1997 they went to the modular engines I've never seen a single truck post 97 with a pushrod anything 300-302-351 or 460 I'd have to see some sort of documentation to prove that cause your the first person I've ever heard make that claim and I can't substanciate it. For crying out loud I just bought a 98 F350 powerstroke front clip two days ago for my 89 F350.

Re: OT What years?
Ah thanks for the clarification bro I've never had anything to do with those heavy duty trucks I have no use for them. to be clear I was talking Exclusively about F150s so technically we were both right, we were just talking about two different things is all, Don't get it twisted bro I respect you and your experience like I said I wasn't trying to be a D***
