ford and lincoln?
is there any reason why a lincoln 460 can't be used in a bump?

Re: ford and lincoln?
i think lincoln has some slight differences that may have to be changed or messed with like the engine mounts for the 460 lincoln motors. i think i read soemthing like that.

Re: ford and lincoln?
What year is the Lincoln? I think the late 60's early 70's Lincoln 460's were the same as the Ford motors..but im not sure.

Re: ford and lincoln?
I would think by 77' all of the Lincoln/Ford differences would have been taken care of.
Im not sure, but regardless, I wouldnt think it would be that big of a deal to swap it in. Even if there was some differences.
Some of the other guys will chime in & let you know. I think AverageF250 & Heep70 know about the big blocks.
Im just a small block guy.

Re: ford and lincoln?
MEL series is the one they're talking about that won't work. 385 series (460) will bolt in.

Those will work for 385 series engines, just not with the MEL series.
