460 Swap Questions

Post by BobbyFord »

What oil pans have you guys used? I'm going to go with a rear sump. I know the 460 Econoline pans work. There are rear sump pans available from Ford Racing parts (like the Fox body swap pans), but there is also a M-6675-T460 racing pan in the catalog that looks more like what I want. I've got the finished engine (about 550HP :D) sitting on the floor in the garage and it has the stock front sump pan on it. I still need to get a few more parts together before doing the swap.

I have a C6 out of a early 70's passenger car. I'm going to swap the tailshaft, housing and flange out of my existing FE C6, when I rebuild it.

I too wonder about oil pans. I would like to run a rear sump from a truck. I too have a front sump right now but I do not like the idea of dumping oil all over the cross member.
