Vacuum Line to Snorkel

I'm putting the stock snorkel and heat riser back on before winter and need to hook up the vacuum line for the snorkel door.
Anyone know where this is supposed to connect to? Also how should I test the snorkel door to make sure it's working right?

i think it goes to a ported vacuum source. it is suppose to stay closed until the engine is warm and then open up with the heat activated ported vacuum.
