installing neew carb, im putting it on engine tommorw, is gasket enough. id hate to put goopy gasket sealer. will the 4 bolt be anough or will it leak air without
gasket sealer.

it should be enough with just the gasket yes. unless you have a vacuum leak after the carb is on then you might need to remove the carb and put soem sort of silicone or soemthing on it. but that probably wont happen unless the carb spacer plate is warped. and if it is replace it instead of sealer.

You should never need sealant on a carb.
But you should always use a fresh base gasket whenever you have the carb off.
The gasket gets squished and hardens over time. If you reuse it, it won't seal as well.
And don't overtighten the 4 nuts or it can warp the carb base.

I like to coat both sides of the gasket with light grease or vaseline. This will make the gasket seal better and it'll come right off perfectly clean if you ever remove the carb.

just the asket and 4 bolts should work fine. I don't think I have heard anyone use gasket sealer on a carb

I'm a little anal. If it has a carb spacer I put a gasket on the intake and one on top of the spacer so every "connection" gets a gasket.
