cams for a 360
Just pulled the 360 outa my 69 apart. It had a couple of spun rod bearings and and the cam bearings were totaly shot, but not as bad as it could have been. Im looking at rebuilding with some mild upgrades. Intake, headers and cam. I was looking at a comp cam either the pure energy or the extreme energy. I know just enuff about FE's to really get into trouble! Any advise would be welcome good or bad. thanks AUDY

hey audy the best advice i can give you is to check the power band that comp says will make the engine run in like 1500 4500 or 3000-7000 you want a cam that will pull hard from idle to 4500 or so probably in your 360 if it's on the street. Also if your buildign the 360 keep in mind comp sells cam kits with cam lifters valveseals springs timing set the whole valve train in a box for like 350 or so it's a good price for all you get. Matter of fact i looked it up quick check this one 1500 to 5500 might just work for ya!!

i just dropped one in my 360...its stock except for cam, intake, carb, and headers/dual exhaust....i love the cam and it runs well with the carb and intake...rpm range is like 1300-5500 or close...here it is: http://www.compperformancegroupstores.c ... =FEHYTAPXE

Exhaust duration longer than intake duration.
Exhaust lift higher than intake lift.

Different cam is not going to make too much of a performance increase until the compression ratio is increased. 360's have terrible compression. Just my opinion.

Thanks for all the advise, the cams you suggested were the ones i was reserching. I have accsess to a machine shop so i can do most of the work myself. I do have a plan to solve the low compression issue. As son as i get more computer savy ill post some pics. Thanks again
