Fuel sender adjustment?

Post by Darrman »

I am having a little problem, my brand new fuel sender is not reading correctly. I had the in-cab tank cleaned and repainted, then dropped in new fuel sending unit. It did not work at all before, as soon as I get this one in, the guage starts working. However, after putting in exactly 5gals of gas in the tank, it will read half full. I have done this twice, the first time it went down like it really was half full until it ran out. Today I put 5 more in and it says half again. Then I drive down to a hill where it will bring all the gas to one side, it reads a quarter tank, then go to level ground and it says empty till I start moving again, then it goes back to half full, wtf?
Any clue to what would cause this, or how to fix it?
Thanks!

it sounds like the ipvr might be out of adjustment. if that doesnt do it you can bend the rod to make it read correctly.
