Any of yal' know off hand if the 351M/400 use a sbf trans bell, or a bbf trans bell? I can't recall... Thanks in advance!

351m 400 429 and 460 are the same bell.

Thanks a lot fordman. That's what I needed to know... I've got a 300 I6 I'm getting ready to rebuild, & I may put it in my 79' so I can take the 351M out & rebuild it... Just had to make sure I've got the right size I-6.... As I recall, some had a small-block trans bolt pattern & some had the Big Block, correct? .... The 4.9 I've got came out of an 83' F-250 with an auto...

all o fthe 1-6 that i know of up to 79 had the small block pattern. i would think the 4.9 would also have the small block pattern in 83 and up.

Hmm... 10-4. I may have to re-think my strategy then... one of my brother's wants the 300 I-6 to put in his 97' rubicon heep... I guess if I can't use it with my C6 we might as well put it in there
