'72 F250 Exhaust Manifold Bolts

Post by creedf250 »

I am slowly rebuilding a '72 F250 Custom. I've got her running but the exhaust manifold is cracked. I ordered a new one from LMC. The problem is I am missing a few bolts and the rest our sketchy. I would like to replace them all but I don't know the specs of the bolts. I called my local auto store and they have bolts in stock (not for a '72 ford) to try and match up with. Can anyone suggest a solution besides spending $10.00 each at the dealer....

Thanks is advance.

I would take one of the ones you have to a hardware store and have them match you up a few for 50 cents. Grade 5 will do just fine. The hardware store should have a little deal that you can thread your bolt into and it will tell you the size. Hope this helps.

Honestly, I really would rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy.

get stainless botls once you get the size of them. they will be easier to remove the next time if that time ever comes.
