numbers matching?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where to find the id # on a 302 and a 353 block. I'm told that Ford did not match up the engine ID with the serial # so it is not a true numbers matching vehicle.

Welcome to FORDification, the best Ford truck website on the planet...

As far as number matching is concerned.... Ford really didn't do that like GM did.
The best you can really do is to decifer the vin number.
That will tell you what the truck was originally equipped with... the info on the engine, tranny, rearend, what color it was painted,what color the interior was and where it was made... etc is all contained within the vin number.
The vin number will either be on a tab on the driver's door, or on the title...

the engine size is in the fourth letter of the vin. but it will not id the exact block that was used. so if you have a 352 in hte vin and the engine is a 352. your numbers are correct for the vin and engine size.
