390 carb linkage... what do you call this?...

Hey Everyone,

I have a '71 F250 with a 390.

Is there a specific name for the part of the linkage that connects from the firewall to the carb linkage? It's that straight rod with the retaining clips on either end.

the whole mess is just called the trapeze thing by most of us. the rod by itself is just a rod with clips on it.

I saw postings calling it the trapeze and guessing that I won't be able to buy just the rod without the whole trapeze contraption unless I find it as a spare part in a junk yard.

I don't thing you could buy the whole thing anywhere but a junk yard.

A lot of people just get rid of the trapeze and run a straight rod back to the firewall linkage.
One less thing to mess with.

just hadn't gott'n to scroung one up from another carb and the time the pic was shot.

I did the same on my 71 hi-boy. But after going off road once I put it back the way it should be.
With body/frame twisting going over bigger rocks a such it made throttle control very difficult without it.
