HEADERS
ALRIGHT GUYS, I'M NEW TO FORDIFICATION AND I GOT TO SAY IT IS JUST AWESOME TO FIND SOME OTHER OLD SCHOOL FORD LOVERS. WELL ANYHOW, I'VE GOT A 67 FORD F100 LONG BED, I'VE BUILT A 390 WITH A FRESH NEW SHORT BLOCK, .040 OVER, EDELBROCK PERFORMER CAM, ELDELBROCK 650CFM CARB, AND I'D JUST BOUGHT SOME SANDERSON BLOCK HUGGER HEADERS FOR IT. I'VE GOT A C6 TRANS, WITH A 9 INCH DETROIT LOCKER. THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS THAT I'VE JUST DROPPED THE ENGINE IN AND MY RIGHT BANK HEADER IS SETTING JUST ABOVE THE FRAME. NOT CLEARING BY ABOUT 2 INCHES. I'M GONNA HAVE TO NOTCH MY FRAME. HAS ANYONE HAD PROBLEMS WITH HEADER CLEARANCE? (OTHER THAN WITH THE P/S BOX, CAUSE MINE IS FINE ON THAT SIDE ) FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I SPENT 2 MONTHS PORTING AND POLISHING THE EXHAUST PORT ON MY HEADS. HOPE THAT WILL GIVE IT SOME UMPH.

Re: HEADERS
First of all, please turn off your CAPS LOCK button...typing in all caps is like shouting, plus it makes a post very difficult to read.
OK, just thinking out loud here...are you sure the headers you're using are block-huggers? I've heard of people having to do a 1/4" or so notch in the frame with headers, but never two inches. If they're hitting the frame that much, they sure ain't huggin' the block very well! Are you using FE engine perches or small-block perches? Small-block perches will lower the engine down by about an inch, and depending on the header, it's possible they might cause some clearance problems.

Re: HEADERS
Sorry about the caps lock thing, alright i was wrong about the 2 inch notch, i installed my headers this weekend and I had to
notch the frame abouth 1 inch wide by about 6 inches long. Yes I bought my headers brand new and they are definately block huggers. My engine perches are big block perches as well. I've now got my engine running and am very satisfied. Now all i have left is to get it driveable and then the body work begins. Thanks for your input.
