Where water temp send unit on the 300 six?

My truck was swapped with a 300 or something six cylinder engine from a 240 I believe. This truck has no defroster or heater system as it is an old ice cream truck, 1969 ford f100.

Where does the temp sending unit go? I bought the factory part. The spot I thought on the right side of the block turns out to be a drain and is not deep enough for the probe. Or where can a put one?

On mine if your standing in front of the truck its on the left side right under the # 6 cylinder intake runner. Here is a pic its under the last hole on the left its hard to see but thats were its at.
