My '69 at the track

Post by Freightrain »

Here's the old clip of my truck at the track back in '92. I finally got it transferred over from the VHS tape. Truck hasn't changed since, just gotten older

Actually I drag race for a hobby, so it's not all that unusual for me. Not that it's easy, or I do it every weekend out, but done it more then once in all these years.

Thanks Lance.

Ya, it's got a wide ratio Toploader in it. I put the big input conversion in it, plus changed the output to 31spline.

Back in the day it was a pretty respectable street machine. The Mustangs of the day couldn't touch it, stock. Firechicken/Camaros weren't any better. Friends tuned up stock '87 Mustang just broke into the 13's. If you had a hi 11- lo 12 sec street car you were baddazz, now it's 9 sec cars.

The ol dinosaur is still fun to drive. I took it to the track last fall and turned 13.75 with full exhaust and street tires.

That was a great video. My exwife tried to race me with her 84 mustang with a 4cylinder/turbo. The mustang kept up til I hit 3rd gear and took off. I had a 302 with a 3speed. I have a 4speed in it now.
