fuel mileage math question
lets see if i got this figured correctly. if i were to drive 1200 miles round trip. and my truck got 18 miles to the gallon. that would be 1200/18 =about 67 so is that the number of tanks at 18 gallons each i would need? thats right isnt it.no thats not right. i would have 67 18 mile trips. thats correct. ok so if thats correct then how many times would i have to fill a 15 gallon tank? it late and i cant think properly right now. ok wait. that would be 15 x 18 = 270 miles per tank. so 1200/270 would be 4.5 tanks of gas. please check my math if you follow what im saying

Re: fuel mileage math question
1200 miles 18 per gallon = 67 gallons divided by 15 gallon tank = 4.5 or so fill ups which = about 270 miles per tank

Re: fuel mileage math question
That seems like great mileage to me! I think a new truck would be hard pressed to beat that.
