I beam bolt holes

Post by ken's1971 »

just curious, do you need to or is it possible to refurbish the bolt holes that hold the springs and radius arm to the i beam? but i should ask is it even necessary to fix the ibeam. I'm just asking anyone out of curiosity, when i replaced the radius arm bushing we checked how much play there was between the bolt and ibeam. We figured it would be ok with the play it had but i would like to get the skinny on the matter.

Thank you for your reply

I don't know, but I just re-assembled my front end yesterday and I had to hammer that bolt in just to get it in through the hole. I didn't have any play once I tightened the nuts down, as I don't think you would either.

As long as the hole has been obviously boogered up or ovaled out due to a loose bolt, I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure you get it good and tight when you reassemble it and you should be just fine.
