Does anyone know if the pad that goes on the inside of the firewall, above the carpet, is availabe anywhere?

Yes, you can get if from NPD, Dennis - Carpenter, probably a couple other places too.

I don't think the original style are being reproduced. If thats what you really want you might trying calling Dennis Carpenter's, they have some N.O.S. parts (pretty pricey). There are some other N.O.S. dealers out there as well. Other option is to look for a used one in decent shape.

Do you want the cardboard for originality sake? Because frankly I would prefer an ABS version, as long as the fit was good.

I agree the abs plastic should be more durable, plus you could cover it with carpet or something to get rid of the plastic look if that is a problem.
