What's the diff' between HVLP and conventional paint guns?

Hello,

What's the basic difference between HVLP and conventional paint guns?

I'm guessing that HVLP generates less overspray.

When would a person want an HVLP gun and when would a conventional gun be a better choice?

hvlp - high volume low pressure
less overspray so you save paint.
i dont know why you would want a conventional over a HVLP but im sure there are reasons.

thats about all i know
