uploading pictures

uploading pictures
Every time I try to upload pictures into my photo gallery I get an error message saying I don't have permission to access galleries/upload.php. I've read the section about how to set up a photo gallery and upload pictures and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
