Chris I didn't realize how close you are. I will definitely keep my eyes open. I sent an email on a truck in MS. I want the bed but the rest would be up for grabs.

Thanks! I thought I'd run across one by now, but no such luck. I may get desperate enough to try and re-skin/ combine a couple of mine if nothing comes along. Really wanting to avoid that :)

did you just weld the mustang "pads" on to the truck pedals or did you adapt the mustang pedals I saw where you were trying to get the hydr to work with the truck pedal. Looks great and ties in with the drive by wire pedal.

I cut the mustang pads off and welding them to the truck pedals. I got the mustang pedal set and booster w the intent of adapting it. Wasn't even close, and the entire bracket is plastic. So I went with mounting the clutch master cyl to the truck pedals, it was way simpler than I thought it was going to be.

Thanks pedals look very cool sorry for all the questions if you got $s for how many times I've looked at your posts your build would be paid for. Yours is the closest to my build I've found.
I have another question as my cab is still on the original frame, When you hooked up the steering did you just go 3/4 - 36 x3/4 dd u joint on the column end and then a short bit of DD shaft to3/4 dd, 3/4 mustang v adapter to hook to the crown vic original shaft? or maybe other way but looks like you have u joint on column end.

Ha. No problem! I have studied and adapted a lot of ideas I've seen on this site. Glad I can help a little.

The steering shaft has a straight adapter (pinned and welded, i didnt trust the shorts splines) onto it and a short piece of dd to extend it. Then a DD to mustang v u joint. I ordered a joint to try it the other way first, but it ran into the header.

Thanks you have helped tons, as has this whole site. Those last pics awesome I tried every which way to zoom in on your steering set up in older pics. I'm wondering if I can fit the one they have with the built in vibration damper. I won't know to I see how much room I have. It's about about $40 more. On my 37 I have three joints.

I'd say you probably could get the damper in there. I considered one, but my thought was that the flexible joint on the cv part of the shaft would dampen things some. I've driven it around a little, seems fine. The real test will be some high speed highway expansion joints/ potholes. :)

Kinda been at a standstill on this thing. I did pick up some headlight bezels from Carpenter at the Springfield MO swapmeet over the weekend. Drug the grille out of the box for a comparison. The bezels have a more polished finish, but I think it's all gonna look good. I'll probably paint the red stripe to match or maybe accent the truck.

Very cool gauges!
I'm thinking about changing lanes and going 3v 4.6. Any input or advice? I had a few questions too

Do you have any more details on the cv oil pan swap? Is there any reason I couldn't raise the motor an inch or so?(I have cv ifs too)

Why did you swap fuel rails? It's not required to go return style is it?

What fuel pump are you running?

What application are those headers for ?
Thanks.

Thanks!

There's no reason you couldn't just raise the motor, but, if I had it to do over I'd move it back about 2-3 inches. That would solve the problem too. There's loads of room between it and the firewall on mine. I just bought a set of stock vic mounts and that's where it ended up. The vic pan was super cheap, so I went that route.

Fuel system wise you can do it A few different ways, but I does have to be return style. I liked the idea of looping the fuel thru the rails, but a simpler way to go would be a bypass regulator. That's what the ford instructions say to do that come with the controls pack. Then you only have a single line from the regulator to the engine. My pump is just an efi professional products inline mounted on the frame in front of the tank.

The headers are 2005 -10 mustang shorties.

Other than that, the control pack harness is super easy to hook up, mostly plug and play.

thanks for the quick reply
I was thinking about going the bypass regulator route
That ford racing control pack definitely looks like the way to go

It's a bezel from a heavy truck, commonly called an f600 cluster/bezel. If you search/ google f600 gauge cluster there are quite a few threads around on the swap. If you get one with the factory guages some can even be repinned and are plug and play.
