The grill is polished aluminum. I was lucky enough to have a clean grill that had just a few tiny dings.

Hi Mnagatani,
That's an exciting accomplishment! It looks pristine.
How does the driving experience compare to your expectations? Were there any surprises?

Robroy,
Great question! I tell you, I was in another world when I first drove it down the street after three years. I was so excited, yet so nervous not knowing what was going to happen. Luckily I returned home from a 100 yard run up and down my street and it didn't break on me! I realized I had a major steering box leak so that had to be resealed! I have though ran out of gas once and I lost a fuel pump, all which was in the neighborhood. I am still just driving it in small distances near the house. The longest run has been to the gas station. Overall, I've been dealing with all the little things that I didnt know needed to be replaced, so my driving experience has been limited. Its been in a driving state for only two weeks now and I'm dealing with a flatspot from a dead stop. I've been playing with the jets and timing and it never seems to end. Tonight I just replaced the steering pump because that had a small leak too. I tried to keep what I remember working, but like the fuel pump and steering pump it showed its time. I am surprised that the ride is not as bad as I thought it would be, but maybe after a few months from now when I can really put some miles on it I'll have a different opinion. Thanks for question and I have to say to everyone on this board that has ever answered one of my questions, THANK YOU and thank you Keith.
This site has been the most proven source for information for that is invaluable. I knew nothing about these trucks until I started really tearing it down and finding out stuff that I never knew. I cant count the times I would come across a problem and everytime I would post a question, some kind of answer would come my way. I'm not the most active by any means on this board, but I look at it almost everyday! No kidding.
Anyways thanks again everyone who has ever helped me in my questions. By far the best site for this era truck!
Mike

That thing is terrific!!!! I really like the smooth look and all your mods. Can you show a good pic of the wood bed floor in finished state? That is great also.

I did take out that center section. I filled all the seams on the hood too. Heres a better view of the front
