Re: 4X4X4 LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Thanks for the encouragement! I am still planning on installing a paxton supercharger unit but it will have to be later down the road, $$$$ has been a little thin, and I am over budget on this project. ( the red paint was WAY more than I planned, $1200.00 a gallon! and I need 3 gallons!!)
Hey Bill, Yea that is your new truck in the refection, only with a white hood now. You should have it tomorrow, congrats! I hope you can use some of the extras Thanks for the kind words!

$1200 a gallon!!! Why so much!?!? that better be some really good paint, wowzer. I would love a finish like yours, but I think my wife, no wait, I am sure my wife will divorce me if I spend that much on paint.rattlecan wrote:Thanks for the encouragement! Re: 4X4X4 LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Hey yall, it has been awhile. Progress is moving along and the target date to get it done for Reno Hot August Nights is coming fast, so far so good although it is going to be very close.
Here are a few pics....
installing the windshield and moldings
painting the doors
all the doors installed
starting assemble the back end first
the L&L conversion brackets
the motor and trans finally in
saddle tank now in
converting the 67 rear doors to 70 style inside handles. this took a little time to figure out but after a few test fits they work great. I had to make room for the indentation on the metal door panel then measure the pull rod for the latch assy and finally mount the chrome paddles on the door. all this was necessary because I put 70 doors on my 67 cab with the original rear doors. I know, I know.....
I used the 67 style latch bar, cut it to length and bolted it with nylon washers to the 70 mechanism
since the 67 metal door panels would not work I had to cut the 70's down to fit the crew door. interesting how ford did this, the left front was used on the right rear....
using a spray bomb to mark the holes for the 70 style armrests
I am installing a high steer system, this was fun. I want the toughest steering linkage i can get and it barely clears the top of the spring pack. I have a friend that has the twin to mine but his is a 77. One day he was driving up my driveway and his steering broke! after a 20 mile trip to get to my house. needless to say I am paraniod! more pics of this install are on the way.
NP 205 transfer case
All the driveshafts have been balanced and installed and I just finished putting new ball joints and locking hubs in the dana 44.
The next big project here is going to be the moldings. finding ranger crew cab moldings that aren't bent in 7 places is like trying to find an honest politician. So ai am making my own B pillars and crew door moldings. So far this has been a major chore. More in this part of the project later.
I am looking to have it running in about 4 weeks and hopefully moving under its own power in 6 weeks
Thanks to all for the tech help and encouragement. I can see the light way down the end of this tunnel.

Re: 4X4X4 LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
what NP205 is that? Mine will mount to the side of the frame rail (I hope ) out of a 78 F250. Looks good will be putting the narrow bump trim on mine and debating about the lower rocker trim and wheel well trim?? Also have a 69' bed so doesnt have the rear bump marker light so not sure if I will put that back in or not??

Re: 4X4X4 LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Hey Todd, Looks like you have a married transfer case for a manual trans. Mine cam out of a 76 f250 with a c-6 auto. The transfer case is a divorced unit. I was looking for this set up for quite some time. My transfer case bolts to a crossmember, looks like yours goes to the frame rails? I really like the wheels you put on your truck! that project is coming along. Hopefully I can get this thing done in time and we can meet up in Reno.

Re: 4X4X4 LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
I thought that might be the case with the divorced T-case... I picked the married to get rid of the shaft between . Took me alot of photoshop and along time to decide on wheels. Those are also not made anymore so took me even longer to find them and I probably already told you but runnin those Toyo A/T 37x18x18 so need at least a 10" wide rim. Most now are 9 or 9.5" wide in that style so probably would work but want the best tire wear. Will look forward to meetin up and checking out the truck

This is one really impressive build. You're doing some really nice work. Wish I could go to Hot August nights to see the truck in person. Always have a good time there. Anyways, just wanted to say WOW I LIKE IT!
