the reality is that when one purchases an insurance policy one is effectively betting against yourself- will i or won't i - the govt. and the insurance co. have made it impossible to operate without it- oh and lest i forget the lawyers also. at one time, in KS, if you put 10,000 in an acct. u could not have to have liability(1970's)- consider all the driver's that never collect a dime from a policy and how much they have paid in- i don't have any figures, but it's got to be a tremendous sum$$$$$$- but u gotta have it- sad but true -jd
