I hear you, my friend! I was supposed to work today, but hustled and got enough done to get the day off. Between my wife, and 2 teenage daughters it's hard to find any time not already planned for me.

The weather has hampered my progress (more than it was already) but I managed to get a few things cleaned and painted. I finished the hood bumper brackets and dash heater grilles, well, I finished one of the heater grilles and the first coat is drying on the second one right now.

I went to visit my in-laws and my brother-in-law and I went to a couple yards by his house. I found a good radiator support for $40. We went to a scrap metal place because my brother-in-law said they will let you walk around and pick and buy anything for whatever they would get for it for scrap. I found a 750 Holley and a huge piston=$9! Got them home and the Holley is dirty, but complete. The piston is just something I thought was cool.

Here's the pictures of my scores this weekend. I had to resize them to load. I went last weekend and pulled a roller cam 351w. I found it just sitting in the engine bay of a '95 F150. It had been rebuild by someone who didn't know what they were doing. It had new rings, bearings, valve seals, and gaskets, but had not been cleaned up before assembly. The new bearings had been gouged-some of them in shapes reminding me of the U.S. eastern shoreline. The block was untouched and had no discernable ring wear. Now I just need the pistons to go with my 4" crank and 6.200" rods...

Well, I got my replacement cab home and almost immediately the Nazi's- I mean city code enforcement- stopped by to complain. According to them, it was a danger to children. I bought the house, pay the taxes, and someone still tells me what I can and can't do. According to the codes, I can't have any more than 2 cars without licence or PARTS for more than 2 cars on my property. However, the bank 3 blocks away is exempt and constantly has a collection of wrecked, dissassembled, and unlicensed cars and can legally do so. Fair? I think not!
