So searching for the tailgate... am i stuck with 68-72 years? or will other years fit? im having a hell of a time finding one not destroyed.

a 73-79 tailgate will fit and work but it will stick out and look funny

finally found a tailgate in some sort of good shape. Not sure what year it came off of, the truck had a different bed than the cab was. now time to get it painted.

Great, looks like a good solid tailgate. From the looks of the FORD trim panel, the tailgate you have is from a 71 - 72. The 71 - 72 FORD trim panels had black backgrounds with silver lettering. Keep us up to date on your progress.

Long time no update, but with work I just havent been able to do much. Planning some time to sand down and work on my tailgate. Anyone give me some advice on what do do with the chrome inlay to make it look good, as well as how to get the dang thing off.
I also have a recent photo as I traded some work for window tinting.
Things I am looking for ATM
1. Ant in good shape.
2. Chrome trim
3. Diamond plate to go across the back top of the bed.
