Made it to the junkyard again, today. I found another gauge cluster-I'm planning to set them both up with different looks so I can swap back and forth. I realized that not all F600 gauges are the same. The gauges styles are completely different on the 2 I found.

Finally got to my replacement door. Got it stripped and welded up the old mirror holes. I found 5 colors of paint on this thing-blue, green, grey, red, and yellow-and 2 different businesses lettered on it. I guess that's why it's rust-free. Had a couple dings, so I filled them. The worst damage was from the mirror getting knocked around. Baby steps...... It started to rain before I got it primed, I should be able to get it done Monday.

I got the primer on my door this afternoon. I sure looked ghetto with it hanging from a rope off my basketball hoop in the back yard! But it sure helped me get both sides at once! I looked at my cab some more, I think it loses 5 pounds a week as it attempts to return to mother nature. I am going to search more earnestly for a replacement cab in my area.

I traded a Trickflow cam that I took out of my Tbird for the slot mags and a pair of 'Powered by Ford' valve covers. I have always liked them and a smoking deal made the decision to use them even easier! I want to keep 2 gauge clusters, I do have a line on another one-I'll PM you if I get it.

Not much progress for a while, some financial issues caused me to divert some truck money to bills. I sanded and reprimed my driver's door Friday. I have an old shed in my back yard so I bolted an old pair of hinges to it and hung my door on them and laid on the primer. I did find a rust-free cab for $100, just gotta go get it.

Nothing glamorous today. I have been trying to keep my truck as presentable as possible to avoid the attention of the ordinance nazis. So, i hadn't pulled any of my drivetrain, yet (no place to store it.) A member here was looking for a 3 speed tranny......PERFECT!!! I'll give it to ya! That gives me an excuse to pull it! Got it out and did a little checking. I am going to be able to use my driveshaft yoke and tranny mount on my AOD swap! Two less things to buy!

I went and pulled my replacement cab this weekend. I also got a driver's side inner fender. I did some swapping and ended up giving $50 and some extra parts I had. The cab came from a '69 Ranger and had good front and rear window chrome, and the lower dash covers that go below the cluster. I'll be selling them to recoup some money. As I was cleaning out the rat poop, I found the original warranty card. Cool stuff!

I had some T-shirt weather today, so I stripped and painted my replacement inner fender. I used Plastidip from a spray can. I heard about it in a magazine, so I prepped and painted a small part and tested its durability. It passed so I will be using it on a few things. I sprayed it on my front cab mount covers and my tranny crossmember, too.

The inner fender I got still had the windshield washer bottle attached, so I cleaned it up. After I got it cleaned up, I tested it and it still works. One less thing to buy! It has a little yellowing, but this is a driver, besides a new one would yellow in a couple years anyway.

It's nice when someone can take the time to clean the old parts up and reuse them. Not only does it save $$ but you still got the original part. Looks good

Hey, Alstoyz! I thought about your project today! I was at Lowe's and as I was leaving I saw a bumpside F600 crewcab with a later model flareside bed. A sharp truck! How's your project going?

Jimmy, it also helps that I am too cheap to buy anything when I can use my labor for free!
