Re: The Ranger XLT Gets New (BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2) Tires.
Thanks for the complements...
I’m going to have to get on some rust stoppage - most importantly the crossmember under the cab (the one where the ends catch all the mud and rocks) and the one at the front of the bed (somebody - not me - drilled holes in the bed floor to let water out, but it is running into that cross member)...
Not much going on lately (not nearly as much as willy, manny and Bullitt (to name just a few)
I was trying to do a little figurin’ though...

It is an EFI pump and one of the filters.
I was hoping to mount the pump and both the pre and post filter on the top of the mounting plate so that they could be connected in an S fashion, looks like the post filter will have to go under the plate or move elsewhere...

That is my plan, at least initially.
I need to fix the bed and cab cross meters and probably change the intake... once it warms up, maybe I can get on it...
Unless you consider that I’ve done basically nothing at all to it an update, nohfdco4 wrote:Any updates?

I wouldn't pre filter it, just use a tank with the mesh screen. Post filter I like using the OEM push lock style on. You can actually buy the fittings and tubing to make your own now. Bronco graveyard has the stuff.

Re: The Ranger XLT Gets Not Much Done
The pump manufacturer is pretty explicit about the pre-filter. I may at a later date (much later date if my current pace is any indication) put a fuel cell or a Mustang tank in it with an in tank pump.
In studying (about all that has gotten done is study) the vapor set up it won’t work for return, plan B is to “T” into the equalization tube that goes from the center of the tank to over by the neck.

Re: The Ranger XLT Gets A Little Bit Done
This is not my best work, but it will work until I convert it to a Mustang tank or something, yes those are fingerprints in the paint
Return line is going to be tight. Fittings are a pain.
Anyway...

Re: The Ranger XLT Gets Not Much Done
So will that bracket mount just underneath the cab on the driver's side? Are you doing surgery to your sending unit?

Re: The Ranger XLT Gets Not Much Done
Correct, it is mounted outside the frame rail in front under the cab, it will replace the short length of fuel line that goes from the tank to the fuel hard line.Bullitt74 wrote:So will that bracket mount just underneath the cab on the driver's side?
The regulator is inside the frame on the left side. You would not use the regulator with Sniper.
No, I got something else up my sleeve.Bullitt74 wrote: Are you doing surgery to your sending unit?
A Sniper would be much easier, shame about the kick down linkage.“Bullitt74" wrote:Watching with interest, as I would love to set up a Holley Sniper on mine next year...

Re: The Ranger XLT Gets A Little Bit Done
See: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =3&t=87311 for return line Q’s
So, I decide to pull the seat out so I can work around the tank better to reseal the sender and replace hoses.
I’m looking behind the seat (yes, I never really looked behind the seat) in semi dark and I see this:
And I’m thinking “Oh great a murder weapon wrapped in bloody rags.” followed by “great, now I have to call the sheriff, and they are going to be like”
Sheriff “so mr DuckRyder where were you on jan 9 1975 @ 3:42 pm (totally made up date)”
DuckRyder “I don’t know, the bus home from 3rd grade maybe?”
Sherriff “Did anyone see you”
Duckryder “umm yeah a bus load of people I haven’t seen since 1975?”
Sherriff “So you can’t prove it”...
This went on in my head for a while, then I was like well, maybe get the seat out then call the Sheriff?
and
I should probably watch less Dateline and Investigation Discovery....

That is absolutely hilarious! Now you have a vintage umbrella...maybe it's worth something?
Didn't see a build sheet back there - I had one with 3 copies on the back of my seat (generated from a dot-matrix type printer with carbon copy). Any trace of that?
