Just a quick update as of today. The trans has new 2nd syncro, 3/4 snycro, new bearings seals and gaskets--photo attached and the cab has the new DC mounts welded on + both new cab support rail extensions replaced. Now I need to get the bottom cleaned up and painted?

Hey, that's looking pretty good Mark!! You know, as long as you have the cab where it's at, you might as well get the bottom cleaned up and painted. ;) You'll never have it this far again, so you might as well.

Very slow going but here is where I am at right now. Bottom of the cab is painted, next the door jambs, inner and outer cab corners and paint the back of the cab. Once the engine is gone thru the reassembly can begin

First of all, your truck is looking great. I will have some reference material when I get to start on my crew. Second, I am very jealous of everyone that gets to work on their trucks  . I am dying to start on mine, but I have to wait until I am home for good. :D

Thanks guys
So are you thinking about using any kind of undercoating?
Very little from what I have heard undercoating over time will dry and crack thus allowing moisture in behind the coating.I have found a 3M product called Rust fighter-I internal panel coating (part#051135-08892)that remains tacky.I have used this on the inside of my doors and will also use this spray on various areas on the underside like in the cab support braces and inside the new front cab supports etc. From what I have seen the bottom of the truck originally had very little protection and or coverage of any kind so I am thinking the paint+internal corrosion protection spray should be sufficient?
Plus I don't think the truck will see quite the same routine it has prior to the repairs.

Not very much new progress to talk about. The cab corners are on and I am waiting for the engine work to be completed. Been really busy and havn't had much time to work on the truck
Thanks for asking and welcome to the site.

For undercoating, there is a product that you can spray on under the finish color ("Flintkote"???) that is slightly flexible. It's not liable to cracking like regular undercoat yet provides a bit more protection than just paint.
