72, f100 4x4, sport custom.

So working on a frame up on this truck. The previous owner mounted a Dana 24 to this cross bracket and drilled some extra holes in it and stuck bolts through. You can see that on the passenger side it broke on the lower section. I don't think this mount was supposed to take that much weight or torque. Should I replace it? Or just weld it up?? This cross member is just for the driveline supper on f100, correct?

Ya. But after working on audis for most of the last 15 years, this thing is easy. Lol.

Well I got the cab off. Finally found the VIN on the frame. Heavily pitted ,but in good shape.

Sorry if I'm being out of line, but could you post a pic showing where your VIN is at on the frame. I've been looking for it on my 68 F-100 4x4, not vey hard, but have been looking and haven't found it yet. I have referenced where the tech articles say and nothing yet. Hoping if I see on on a 4x4 frame maybe it'll help me catch something on mine. Been looking on the frame rain in the engine bay, I'm sure there's one on the frame rail under the cab too, but haven't had the cab off.
