Hahaha :P
Thanks Casey, Nah not really yet, thinking of gettin a different set of wheels but mainly I just wanna drive it!

So I got it back from the rwc joint last friday afternoon (24th) with a reasonable size list for a 41 year old car. Needs new tyres, new front shocks, new seat and steering wheel, shifter needs a light to display park, neutrel etc., small hole in sill needs repairing, rear brakes need recoing and auto needs a couple new seals.
So that weekend cut/unbolted the old seat frame out, put a road worthy steering wheel I had lying around and then installed an awesome
reupholstered seat I got from the 77 I was given and installed a new set of front shocks :)

Then on monday I went to Eagle auto parts and payed $280 for rear drum shoes, lhs drum, two new rear wheel cylinders. Was only about 250% markup from the US prices!
Image

Wednesday I bought four new Kumho Road Venture 31x10.5's and chucked em on which cost me $660 and they're made in china

Some nice ford fluffy dice:

Then I got it flattopped back to mechanics for him to fit the rear brakes, install the new auto seals and a few other things.

Next thing I gotta do when I get it back is fit new carpet, get rid of the petrol tank behind the seat which has been fibreglassed, get a new gas setup and get it tuned to suit, pickup the canopy I've bought for it and wash and polish it :dance

Ok, update time.
In the last month or two I have had a new Lokar shifter installed, installed a new sterio, por-15'd the floor, dynamat'd the floor, put new carpet in, built a sub/storage box and two door speaker boxes and removed the overhead console! Probably more that I've forgotten but oh well. Here are some piccies:
Por-15 finished and dynamat starting to go down:

Dynamat finished and jute starting to go down:

Jute finished and vinyl matting down:

Great truck man, really love all the personal touches you have done throughout the truck. Haven't seen anything like those window cranks before, great idea and it goes right on with your truck. Keep up the spot on work.

Ok time for an update :)
Since the last post I haven't really done much on the truck other then get the wheels I bought for it polished, mainly just been driving it a heap!
Last weekend I took it too it's first show, was extremely fun. Got to cruise around Phillip Island Grand Prix track amongst a heap of other pre 70 beasts.

Here are some pics of the truck at the show:

Cheek,
Very nice pics, thanks for sharing. I spy a red Ranchero in the background in the one photo, lot of nice trucks and cars. The tread pattern on those Kumho (spelling) tires looks very much like the Goodyear Wranglers I put on my Expedition a few years back. They should do well.

And hey...someone put your steering wheel on the wrong side!
Never thought about it till now but even your heater box would be different than our left hand drivers? Do you ever see right hand steers in the junkyard down there at all? :hmm:

You spy right! There were alot of nice cars there I didn't take photos of as my mate had a proper SLR camera. Might upload them sometime if people are interested?
I wish I could of gone Goodyears, BFG or something american made but at $280 instead of $160 for the kumhos (each) I couldn't do it. The Kumho's stick to the road extremely well, off road they're not bad too :)

Haha I've never heard that before :P Actually it's on the right side.... lol

Yeh all the rhd bumps have heaters different to the lhd ones, RHD ones are aftermarket "Smith" brand
The bottom of the dash is also different, wipers start from other side and alot of other things that I can't think of now

Nice looking ride. I was going to make the reversed picture comment, but someone already beat me to it. I am curious about the rear bumper, is that a typical aftermarket item down under?

That'd be aftermarket...we have many traybacks here as opposed to stylesides in Aus and it looks like that one is a bit of a hybrid...but i like it, fits in pretty well
