I do rock crawling. On one of my trips, where it used to say toyota tacoma on the side of my truck, all that was left was ta taco after a tree got in the way :D . I guess When I get a bump, I'll have to change the user name. I'm not really creative, I'll have to think long and hard about a new name. I need to pot up a pic of this silver canister on the front bottom of the engine bay. It's leaking fuel and I'm not sure what it is.

8) "ta Taco" is great. Don't change it. And it makes for a good story.

Before you told use how you got your name, I was thinking it was from stuttering while trying to say "taco".
 ta ta taco

Good looking truck. I prefer a stock steering wheel but it looks good.

I don't care for that steering wheel either, but thats whats on it. I posted the pic more for the gauge cluster. OK, so that silver canister dripping fuel is where the fuel filter is then?

Is this an easy fix? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I know nothing about old truck or engines :? .

Thanks Coz. My buddy tells me they suck as tow rigs. But, I'm thinking with the right gears anything can tow. I just don't want to get into something I can't use for all my needs. I get kind of nervous when I'm getting into something I don't know too much about. I guess in reality this truck may have towed more than some superduty diesel, since they didn't exist back then.

Happy New Year Everyone! :woohoo:

OK, so heres the skinny. It's an F-250, 360, built in San Jose, CA., built in July 1968. The transmission code just says Automatic. Rear axle is a Dana 60 w/ 3.73 gears unless they have been changed out. The truck was labeled an F-100, 390, with a C6 tranny, on 1 ton suspension.

So my question to you all is, how do I know what engine is in there for sure? How do I know what tranny is in there for sure? The steering column needs to be rebuilt(yeah that grant steering wheel feels like its about to fall off), the heater doesn't work(I don't use A/C, but have to have a heater  ), dash lights don't work, Just allot of little things that can be taken care of. I guess I'm just picky. I can deal with everything as long as I know what I'm getting.

Thanks guys, Davin.

Well, things didn't go according to play :x . Have to hold off for another day. I was curios about the front bumper though. If you notice there are 2 bumps in the top, is this normal? It doesn't look like there was any other damage to the bumper.

The "bumps" in the Bump's bumper (say that three times real fast) are not stock nor normal. I suspect there was an attachment on it at one time that was mounted or used incorrectly. My first guess is these guards. Image
