Must of been something we missed. Maybe in a few years when we do something to the built c6 I now have going in the race truck I'll tear it down and spend more time on it to understand it.
But the highboy has a manual and all i see is gears so even if it ever does need a rebuild I'd be able to do that! :D
Air check assembly prior to valve body installation? :D

Is their away to lower rpm's by switching the 3rd speed gear for something else ? What do you guys use to lower the transmission out of your truck?

Instead of swapping out transmission gears 99% of people swap rearends or rearend gears. Whichever is easier in your case.
Find out what you have in the rearend if you dont know already and get something more milage friendly.

How much do you bench  ? I have an 18 yo wrestler so I just have him take care of it and call it "training". "C'mon son,..you gonna let that sucker beat you." "Good Grief boy, I'm gonna get your sister!" Works every time! On a serious note, Get a tranny jack at tool rental. It's a process but if you do it in the right order it will be slick. You and and another strong guy can carry it to a break down area once from under the truck. I actually set it on a empty tire and strap it down until I disassemble.

Get Ken Collins video as it has a lot of what Bobby is talking about that a manual will not necessarily go over

Bobby did you get a metal sprag? All I could find last time was plastic cage with "no assembly" required which was better but looks flimsy.

Yes I did. There's a trans shop around the corner from my house, I got the kit for $20.

Cant wait to get this C-6 rebuilt! The whole thing just gets worse. Today while back up the whole truck would start to shake really bad ( really really bad). When ever I apply more gas the shaking would get worse and eventually was enough to knock the shifter out of reverse into neutral. Also their seems to be a big lose of power in reverse. No shaking in any of the forward gears. I cant get enough power to back up are driveway without a running start...Any ideas?? :hmm:

Check the fluid level first. If it's full it may be a time for an O/H...
