What would be involved in making a F100 into a divorced t-case truck? Would I need to find a crossmember from an F250? I have fabrication abilities, but nothing for reference as to how, where and what it would take to put in a divorced case.
But I am interested!

Re: NP 435 swap questions
i think the divorced case uses soem sort of brackets that mount to the frame. its not a ful crossmember though. you mightbe able to find some diagrams on www.fordification.net since the dentsides used a divorced case.

Re: NP 435 swap questions
I sourced a 435 and 205 transfer case from a '77 F250 with the adapter and all the linkage (even the crossmember and driveshafts!). The transmission is in, but hit a snag. The rear transmission mount no longer fits. The 205 adapter put the mount further back, which isn't a huge problem. But the mount on the adapter also sits lower, so the transmission mount no longer fits (too tall). The crossmember on my F100 is riveted in and also locates the trailing arms, so its not moving.
Anyone else had this issue? Looks like I'll be fabricating a new rear transmission mount...
