well here is how the project sits right now oct 27 09

it snowed today, we got the body moved to the side and the frame rolled into the garage just in time, now for the long bitter utah winter, the project should still progress, but with the snow a lot less people are working on their truck that means less are looking for parts and the cash will stop flowing for a bit, so i will have to do with what i have for now.

as you can see the bottom of the cab is coming along, i burned up my grinder and am trying to convince my wife to let me invest in a soda blaster... we will see :)

Thats already some good progress you've made. Sure wish I could do mine right like you and take it all apart and down to bare metal. Mine has to sleep out in the snow for now. :(

remember soda blasting doesnt remove rust and leaves a film :D

Looking good 68 Monster. :thup: I'm starting to do the same thing to my 71. My donor truck even has the same paint scheme as your donor truck LOL.

No new updates as i have been really busy this spring,as well as having my father being killed in a car wreck in sardine canyon, he was in a 2001 saturn driving home from work when a guy driving a ryder rental truck fell asleep crossed over the line and drove over his car :eek: he was 54, it has been hard, but i still am going to finish the truck i mean he did ownitbeforeme :clap:

Glad you've already got his old truck and fixing it up though. You'll always have good memories there.

Finally it is warm here, time to air out the garage, and get back to work!!!! i took apart the front grill, rock guard, and radiator support from the 70 green truck, a guy is driving here to pick them up for 150.00, have another guy interested in the 390, still have a great bed, and cab, doors, and pass fender two hoods, three gas tanks, and tons of other misc stuff for sale! if all goes good i will barley make my money back!

So the only rust on the green one is surface rust? How pitted is the surface rust? Dent's?? Also would yo be wiling to meet me half way if I decide to buy it?

bothhoods are pretty straight, the blueone has no rust, the green one has surface rust, i'll have to see how pitted it is
