Awesome job man!

This is the exact setup I want to run on my truck when it comes time for my exhaust work. Anyway you could post up a soundclip or video? Where did you pick up the headers...summit?

Very clean work! Looks great. I agree on the "H" pipe. Really helps balance the tone.

Nice work!! Everyone warned me about the headers cooking my starter and I didn't believe them. I only drive the truck 1000-2000 miles a year so it took a little longer than they said, but it is starting to show signs that it is on it's way out. half the time I turn the key it just spins with out engaging into the flywheel. It usually works on the second try. I just wanted to let you know so your not surprised when it happens.

thanks for the tip!! i have not been on here in awhile. I just got back home from my mission trip in Guatemala! had an AMAZING TIME! i hope it doesnt cook the starter, but my uncle has a 68 truck with a 390 with headers and they have been on there for about 15 years and it hasnt cooked the starter yet, so knock on wood my starter wont get cooked. I guess i could invest in some heat wrap and put it around the starter.

Since it spins then the wires are not cooked. Sounds like you may have cooked all the lube out of the pivot for the lever that pushes the bendex into the flywheel and/or the main starter shaft at that point. Pull it apart and use graphite on it. Should fix it. We used graphite inside large bread ovens, so it should hold up to a header close by.

Warning: DO NOT OVER DO IT and DO NOT GET GRAPHITE ON or NEAR THE BRUSHES!!! It WILL conduct electricty.
