I drilled a hole in the cross member, just under the plug, I turn it half open and it pours out the hole, soon as pressure is gone, I take the plug off and I only spill a little.

My '96 F250 with the 351 had the same problem. Never rusted. The '00 V10 F250 drains nice, right into the pan. I guess it took them 30 years to figure it out. Now that I think of it, my '83 F250 with 300 six drained fine. I guess it depends on what engine your truck has.

Take it to the dealer so they can clean up the mess.
the Average truck buyer wouldn't want to deal with the mess after the first time!!!!!

FBF, my 71 with the 300 also drains on the crossmember, so it's not the engine type. Maybe it's an F100 thing.

Dude grab the latest glossy dept sales brochure, be fore your wife sees it and spends your beer money. Crease it stick it between oil pan and frame, point toward drain pan . Wipe off when done and dispose of

i cut the bottom out of a milk jug and use it as a funnel into the pan,clean,cheep and easy!

The engineer who was supposed to check that fell asleep as the truck rolled over him. Unfortunately the tires missed his body and he lived...

OK, just kidding.

I am going to make a tray from an old plastic gutter, a couple of magnets and some epoxy. It will slip over the cross member, and the magnets will hold it in place while the oil drains.
It will probably be another year before I put enough miles on to warrant changing the oil again. So there is plenty of time to figure it out... or just copy from one of you smarter folk!

I use a short piece of plastic rain gutter. It wedges right in place and does not spill a drop.

I tried using a cut-out piece of milk carton, but it didn't fare so well. It worked SOMEWHAT, but not entirely.

put a funnel under it and something to drain the funnel into from there.
