So I tried my hand at putting on the seat cover. Found an Acme brand upholstery kit on Amazon for $89.00. It had a couple places at the lower corners of the top cushion that didn't get stitched. So I worked on those a little with my 7th grade home economics skills :/. Otherwise it's very nice and turned out decent. For the money I don't think I did bad.

I may do something different eventually, but I need a bench to be able to haul the kiddos. I do a little autocrossing with my Cobra, it's a lot of fun. I keep telling my friends I'm gonna try it with the truck when it's done. They think I'm kidding....:)

Hey bud, truck is looking awesome - great progress! I was thinking of tackling my seat cover myself. Looks like you did a great job - any advice or tips?? The local upholstery shop wants $200 just to remove the old and install the new. Seems a little crazy for something I may be able to do myself, how long did it take you? Thanks!

It was really pretty easy. I'd say putting it on took me about 2 hours to put on. The only part that gave me a little trouble was the sides on the back. They wanted to stay a little wrinkled, but the pic looks worse than they do in person. I just started at the center of each piece and worked my way out to the edges. Invest in a good set of hog ring pliers. I ended up using regular pliers, it was too late to get any and the el cheapo pair that came with the upholstery were useless.

That seat looks great man nice work. Truck is coming together well too, paint looks great.

Any chance that you have a link to the covers? I would be up for trying that out on my white truck, trying to decide if I want to do a bench or bucket's in it.

Looking great! Do you know the number for that shifter handle and what boot/trim ring you used.

Here's the kit I got, mine was from Amazon (a second I guess with the bit of sewing I had to finish). I just searched the part # on amazon to find it. http://www.acmeautoheadlining.com/19fostcabfrb5.html

The boot is a lokar 70-bfmb, and the handle was one for a Chevy truck. Can't find the exact part # but I'll try to find it.

Cut and drilled holes in my 67 panels to work w 68- doors/ armrest. Sprayed them with duplicolor bed coating for a little texture. I still have to get new armrests because these are separated, but screwed one on to see what it'll look like.
